Discovering Your Purpose

Your brand purpose is the reason your business exists beyond making money. It is the foundation of your brand and helps you to set goals and targets, make decisions day-to-day, and persevere through the hard times. Having a brand purpose is also good for your bottom line as a study by Interbrand found “brands with a purpose set on improving our quality of life outperform the stock market by 120%.”

For creative people, whilst designing your products may come easily, discovering your purpose and turning that into a viable business can be more challenging, if it doesn’t come to you really quickly. Developing a business is a journey, so it is OK to take your time in developing your purpose. Spend time trialling, iterating and improving your concepts, and testing your ideas with friends and families to refine your ideas.
