Are you making the most of LinkedIn?

LinkedIn is known to be a social network designed for career and business professionals to connect with others, but there are also opportunities for fashion brands on the platform.

Many creatives avoid LinkedIn as it is less visual, but it is a great platform for starting to build contacts, showcase your brand through posts and share images of your work and products, as well as get some great recommendations and endorsements from clients and customers.

LinkedIn is a great place to connect with wholesale store buyers, who all regularly update their profiles. It is recommended that you connect with them, and then like or comment on any content they post as a way to start to build a relationship with them. You can find the buyers by using the search bar “buyer Harrods” and it will list all the buyers for the different departments, so you can find and connect with the ones that are right for your product.

On LinkedIn, you can also showcase your product to a wider and perhaps new potential direct customer base. Post about your product, new collections or new stores. This strategy has worked really well for brands that sell products to someone who perhaps works in corporate or media industries. Groups on LinkedIn are a great way to share your expertise or show your passion for a particular subject such as sustainability or new technology, which would then position you and your brand as a spokesperson, thought leader or influencer in that subject

Many fashion brands also use LinkedIn to connect with businesses outside of their network in order to find collaboration and sponsorship opportunities, looking for companies that want to create more exciting content, entertain their clients or move into new markets.
