London Fashion Week Review – Ashish

It was party central on the Sunday evening of London Fashion Week when Ashish presented the AW19 collection “nothing is what it seems”. There was little description or explanation of the collection as the show notes simply stated the collection name.

In the entirely pitch-black venue, a beat of gongs echoed around the space before a single spotlight followed the models the length of the catwalk. The models wore extreme sized wigs and the expected Ashish sequins were a plenty, placed to give the illusion of crochet. The show was as extravagant and extreme as anticipated, full of colour, sequins and glitter that is the Ashish trademark.

Drawing inspiration from Victoriana in the chiffon and tulle frills, pussy bow blouses and heavily embellished pieces, the collection remains true to the brand signature and shows the authenticity of the brand.
