Swatch On: A New Initiative

A new platform called Swatch On for sourcing Korean-made fabrics has launched a new sustainability initiative, with several sustainable fabric options for you to buy.

Sourcing fabric can be one of the most challenging aspects of production, especially for emerging fashion designers. Swatch On is an online fabric marketplace based in South Korea. who are particularly interested in creating a reliable fabric sourcing marketplace for emerging fashion designers. They have more than 150,000 products online and they wholesale fabric with no minimums. They offer free shipping for fabric swatches.

Swatch On has a range of sustainable fabrics including GOTS certified organic cotton and TENCEL ™ branded Lyocell and Modal fibres produced from sustainably sourced, renewable raw material wood, using an environmentally responsible process.

One of Swatch On’s new initiatives is to help Korean fabric suppliers share their high-quality leftover fabrics in a scalable and profitable way, in order to promote circular economy. Most of the deadstock fabrics are sold to local markets without knowing what happens afterwards. Many are known to get dumped, landfilled or incinerated. The typical downside of using deadstock to create garments is the fact that it is hard to find full information such as its content, behaviour, etc. However, Swatch On deadstock fabric are from some of the most reliable fabric suppliers in the Korean fabric market. These deadstock fabrics are just as good as all the other fabrics we carry!
