Designed by the most creative and talented fashion duo Aleksandre and Lado, MATÉRIEL is one of the most memorable Tbilisi based brands. Collections are minimalist with an elegant approach to forms and cuts. Colours are always vibrant and bold, transforming otherwise simple pieces into stand out staples. The brand is now sold in major retailers around the world including Browns, Net a Porter and Lane Crawford.

The brand has a rich history and a unique concept, working with local designers to create its premium line. "Fashion House Materia" was established in 1949 and till this day remains as one of the oldest apparel manufacturers and fashion retailers in Georgia. During the Soviet era the fashion house was actively partaking in domestic and international fashion shows.

The experience gained from operating alongside the European and Soviet fashion houses gave the brand a strong foundation to rebuild when it became totally privatized after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Fashion House Materia fully controls the production of its goods and does not indulge in outsourcing. Each and every item is fully crafted in Tbilisi, Georgia in Materia factory all thanks to the modern manufacturing technologies, high production capabilities and extremely competent work force.

Recently "Fashion House Materia" gave birth to a premium line MATÉRIEL. The brand is unique in its approach to the fashion business; Collections are presented by talented Georgian designers who all work under MATÉRIEL. The line aids the evolution of Georgian fashion scene by giving opportunities to young and up and coming designers to expand their possibilities and talent. Currently, designers Aleksandre Akhalkatsishvili and Lado Bokuchava create for MATÉRIEL. Both of them operate their private labels.
