Review - Steven Tai SS19

Steven Tai’s SS19 was a breath of fresh, floral air in the middle of London Fashion Week with a presentation in the SYOFL teams favourite store The Shop at Bluebird.

The beautiful presentation saw models standing under a canopy of fragrant flowers creating a fragile reference to the inspiration of the sun-drenched days of the 1970s to Sofia Coppola’s vision of the seventies in the film adaption of the Virgin Suicides.

There was a romantic delicateness through the collection with frayed ruffles, and floral jacquard, contrasts of relaxed draping with form fitted masculine shapes.

The presentation included a diverse group of models celebrating the launch of a campaign called Portrait Positive. Supported by the charity Changing Faces, a series of portraits have been created by celebrity photographer Rankin of inspiring women with different skin conditions or visual differences, all wearing clothes designed by Tai.
