Review - Edeline Lee SS19
EDELINE LEE charmed the fashion crowd with a joyful, fun dance presentation that delighted the audience. Inspired by the lives contemporary women lead and the multiple roles that they play in their lives, EDELINE LEE curated a performance piece juxtaposing the woman's vulnerable, internal persona versus her worldly, exterior facade.
The fifteen minute performances were cleverly choreographed with an excellent sound track with changing tempos of music that kept the audience engaged and enchanted.
Within the collection, EDELINE LEE expanded on multiple experimentations with ruching and ruffles, using their forms to delineate structure, and their texture as graphic, decorative elements to soften and lift her precise, tailored, womanly shapes. Stripes and distorted zigzag textures are created through the techniques used in their fabrication and in their placement, From tiny, pin-hemmed, then scrunched ruffles, to voluptuous, doubled and rolled flounces, to circles cut directly into the pattern construction; each idea has been extrapolated into eminently wearable, yet playful and feminine silhouettes.
